SME Sustainability & Compliance Support Program

Helping small and medium-sized enterprises align with ESG, regulatory and lender requirements while strengthening their business fundamentals.

Overview

Many SMEs recognise the importance of sustainability and compliance, but lack the tools, time or in-house expertise to respond to evolving expectations from regulators, banks, investors and clients. This pilot program responds to that gap.

Nova Crest Green Consult works with a cohort of SMEs across different sectors to simplify sustainability and compliance into practical steps that support growth, not bureaucracy.

What We Aim to Achieve

  • Translate ESG and regulatory requirements into simple, SME-friendly actions.
  • Improve documentation, governance and risk management within participating firms.
  • Strengthen SMEs’ ability to access finance and win contracts with larger buyers.
  • Demonstrate scalable models for SME sustainability support in Ghana and beyond.

Program Modules

  • Baseline assessment: Quick diagnostic of current governance, compliance and ESG practices.
  • ESG & compliance roadmap: A practical, prioritised action plan for each SME.
  • Policy & documentation support: Drafting of key documents such as codes of conduct, HSE policies and basic ESG statements.
  • Training & coaching: Short, focused sessions for owners and managers on compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Finance & market readiness: Aligning documentation and reporting with the expectations of lenders, investors and corporate buyers.

Who Is It For?

The pilot targets growth-oriented SMEs in sectors such as energy, agriculture, logistics, manufacturing, services and technology who want to strengthen their structure and credibility while remaining agile.

Current Status

The first batch of SMEs has been selected and initial diagnostics are underway. Early feedback shows strong demand for clear, jargon-free guidance and templates that owners can quickly adapt to their context.
